What is a dance company?
A dance company is a dedicated group of young dancers who are looking to take their dance to the next level. By joining a dance company, dancers gain access to additional opportunities to grow as an individual, performer, and as a team. Opportunities may include master classes, guest choreography, conventions, competitions, and performances.
The company for your dancer?
The Pure Movement Dance Institute offers various companies to provide a scaled experience for dancers at every stage with increasing levels of commitment. All company members, regardless of the group, perform in our annual winter ballet. All members will also have at least one small group number and join together onstage for the finale in our May recital. Junior Elite and PMDI company are ideal for dancers who would like the extra stage time and skill building without the further commitments of Illusion Dance or our Pure Movement Performance Company (PMPC). Illusion Dance is well-suited for dancers interested in a theatre and musical style of dance with opportunities to attend conventions as available. PMPC is our highest level of commitment as company members compete and attend conventions annually. Head to each company's page for more detailed information.
